<image:title>About - About Us</image:title>
<image:caption>Oak Hill Guitar Works is my repair shop located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania offering setup and repair services for all brands of electric and acoustic guitars and basses. I am a Fender Silver Level Certified Guitar Technician and my love affair with guitars began in 1982 at the age of 13 when I was given a Vox Stroller electric guitar by a neighbour in my home town of Croydon, England. In over 40 years since, I have owned, played and worked on just about every type and brand of guitar and bass you can think of. I started my guitar repair journey in 2000. I had moved to Orlando, Florida from England in 1999 but returned home to see my father just before he passed away. While I was home I spent time in the South London shop of renowned British luthier Bernie Goodfellow, formerly of Goodfellow Guitars and more recently proprietor of GB Guitars. Bernie's friendship was invaluable in helping me get through a time of grief and without him I probably wouldn’t have started on this path. His infectious enthusiasm for building and repairing guitars really rubbed off on me, so upon my return to the USA I set about learning the craft and gaining as much experience as I could. I received a copy of 'The Guitar Player Repair Guide' by Dan Erlewine for my birthday that year and after that I was on my way. Moving to Northern Virginia in 2008 I established my shop as Jade Guitars, which I operated for five years and in 2009 I became a Silver Level Certified Technician for Fender Musical Instruments Corp., one of the proudest moments of my career as a repair technician. In 2013 I renamed the shop Oak Hill Guitar Works to reflect where I was based and after relocating to Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 2021 I decided to continue with the Oak Hill name once I had re-established my shop. I am proud to be able to offer my services to the music community here in Lancaster and I look forward to providing you the very best service I can. <image:title>Custom - Custom Building</image:title>
<image:caption>Ever dreamed of having a custom guitar built to your own specifications, but don’t have thousands of dollars to spare? We may be able to help. We can build many different variants of classic bolt-on neck designs based on what you want. Several options are available to you - you can buy all the components yourself and simply have us put it all together for you, we can order components for you, or we can do a combination of the two. Either way if you’ve got an idea in your head for a custom guitar or bass, chances are we can achieve it together. Drop us a line here with your inquiries - we’re always happy to talk guitars and flesh out ideas! Also check out our Gallery page to see instruments we’ve built already.</image:caption>

<image:title>Custom - Building History</image:title>
<image:caption>Between 2010 and 2013 I built thirty-one instruments under the name Drew & Sebastian Guitars. These were high-end instruments which were my take on what I thought a custom shop-level bolt neck instrument should be. One was given a glowing review by Vintage Guitar Magazine, which also published a builder profile about me, and I was also featured in Premier Guitar Magazine. D&S was an amazing experience which culminated in me taking a trip to the Southeastern Guitar & Amp Show in Raleigh, North Carolina in September 2011 as an exhibitor where I met many wonderful people from the industry. Unfortunately D&S was not destined to last in the long term, but I've always known I wanted to get back to building again. (Pictures below - VG Magazine review of the D&S Avenger and pics from the Southeastern Guitar & Amp Show with pickup maker Lindy Fralin, who is holding D&S guitars with his pickups installed).</image:caption>

<image:title>Custom - Europa Guitars</image:title>
<image:caption>Beginning as a discussion with an artist friend about a collaborative project where she would hand-paint bodies for guitars I would build, we chose the name Blackbird Guitars (after the Beatles song of the same name with all its cool meaning) but found that a company with that name already existed. Needing to find another name, I hit on the idea of naming the new custom guitars after one of the models I built under the Drew & Sebastian brand, and so Europa Guitars was born. My D&S models were truly high-end boutique instruments with every body and neck made to the customer's precise specifications and finished in expensive gloss finishes. This time around I’ve decided to make my guitars more 'stripped down' and accessible - in addition to being as eco-friendly as possible - but they still feature premium pickups, electronic components and hardware. Europa Guitars will feature licensed necks and raw or reclaimed solid wood bodies which will be hand-finished with a thin satin nitrocellulose lacquer to allow the wood to breathe and resonate as much as possible. Due to the reclaimed/rustic nature of the wood in the bodies there will likely be imperfections and marks in the wood, but these are a characteristic of the guitars which will be accentuated by the thin satin finish. Europa Custom Guitars are built by hand in Pennsylvania from domestic and imported components and are now available to order on a limited basis.</image:caption>

<image:title>Services - Appraisals, Valuations and Consignment Sales</image:title>
<image:caption>Appraisals/Valuations If you have a vintage (or other) instrument and you want to know how much it’s worth, whether it’s for selling, insurance purposes or just for your own information, we can help. We’ll research your instrument thoroughly to give you the most accurate appraisal we can, to the best of our knowledge. Obviously the market fluctuates a lot and pricing can depend on the desirability of a particular guitar, but we’ll do our best to provide the most accurate number we can*. Basic/standard appraisal - $50 Detailed vintage appraisal - $100 Consignment Sales If you’re selling an instrument and don’t want to deal with the hassle of going through listings and auction sites, we offer a consignment selling service where we will take care of the whole process, from getting the instrument ready for sale to listing and shipping for a negotiated percentage of the final sale price after auction, listing, selling and shipping costs. *DISCLAIMER: Appraisals are based on available information and are intended as estimates only, not a legally binding guarantee of authenticity or sale price. The appraiser is in no way liable for any financial losses. Pricing of instruments is subjective and is subject to market changes.</image:caption>

<image:title>For Sale - Very Rare Vintage 1983 Fender Walnut Elite Stratocaster w/80's Fender Hardshell Case</image:title>
<image:caption>You are looking at an extremely rare 1983 USA Fender Walnut Elite Stratocaster, made for only one year at the end of the CBS era. Excellent condition with the exception of a few dings/dents and a couple of small cloudy areas in the finish. The tremolo arm is non-original (it was bought from a website that specializes in 80s MIJ and USA parts) and doesn't stay clicked in, but is functional. What makes this model so rare is the chrome hardware. Most Walnut Elites had gold hardware with pearloid tuner buttons, this is the only one I've ever seen with chrome hardware. The guitar is clean, sounds great, plays great and will be an excellent addition to your collection. Recently set up with new D'Addario strings. Includes the 1980's Fender USA hardshell case that according to the previous owner is the one that originally came with the guitar. $4,250.00</image:caption>
